They think we are stupid or what ?
Every time i watch the TV, i become nervous. They interrupt our favorite TV series, movies, news, shows…to impose their ads. It’s everywhere we go…we can’t escape it…
It forbids us to get bored…it forbids us to think…Our desire doesn’t belong to us anymore: they impose their one. They defend us to desire randomly and hazardously. Our desire is the investment’s result of billions of Dollars and Euros...
Of course, i’m talking about advertisment. Advertising can be described as the most spread form of persuasion in the world. That’s why U.S. businesses spend $135 billion dollars on TV, radio, and print ads each year. About one fourth of every television hour and over 50% of most magazines and billboards consists of advertising.
All what they want is making money by all the ways to survive in this competitive business society. They are ready to sell us bulshits showing it as an “exclusive product”, “scientific breakthrough” or “miraculous cure”. Most of the time they are fooling us, playing on our 5 senses: the sight by variating the colors and using sexy persons (the “before” and “after” is modified my photoshop software), the hearing by using emotionnal music background, nice sexy voices, special effects ect...
Misleading advertising is spreading more and more. People are getting trapped, because the marketing stategies and tactics are getting developped, because the ways to convince us to buy this or that product are getting stronger and because simply people follow blindly their inconsciousness which was already covered by the dust of the advertisment’s effect.
I can’t list how many product has been shown as “amazing’ and “revolutional” while it was a simple “lie”. I can’t list all the complaning list of people who have been victims of misleading advertising, starting from famous companies like “Dior”, “L’Oreal”...reaching the new born chineese firms.
Wake up people, don’t believe whatever u see, whatever u read or whatever u hear. The expensive cost doesn’t reflect the “good quality”, the good testimonials don’t translate the “effectiveness of the product”, the fat free label won’t make you thin and the antiwinkle won’t make you look younger.
I’m not against Marketing, i’m against its dishonesty.

Controversail indeed jajaja... here's the perspective of a marketer... Firts TV is not good for anybody, it's better to read a book or rent a movie but... to produce tv cost money, and as any business you have to make money...through ads...
In Mexico there's a law againts lying about the qualities or caracteristics of a product but unfortunely is rarely enforced.
Not only TV, an average human being (speacially in America) will view 4000 ads every day, in magazines, streets, newspapers,cars,etc... so that's a lot of competion to draw your attention towards a product (any product including the pharmaceutical industry jaja)...
so how can I ensure that you are going to buy mine and not the competitor's...easy..
I play with your subconsious mind... emotions, sex, pretty men & women, fantasies, dreams, a better life... and hidden images, colors, etc., That's bad true... but also helps generate an industry that develops and does research to make better products that will help us, like cell phones, computers, etc.
money and sex make the world go around...
I know there are lots of crappy products that enhance their features beyond thruthfulness, but that's a given in our society, in the USSR or CUBA they don't have ads (except for those official ones from the goverment) but their industry, technology and scientific develompent is poor in most areas...
It is to us to decide whether we buy it or not...
How can we do that???
Easy...
1. Don't go shopping (speacially if you're hungry) for groceries, have lunch first and go afterwards...
and read all labes shown on the product (if the product doesn't have labels or just a simple one do not buy it.
2. Look thoroughly, completely, up and down the market shielf... products line up any where between 1.50 meters to 1.70 meters (height) pay more money to Walmart , Keymart, etc. to be there, we are lazy to look down and compare products. (those are the ones that people usually buy)
a) compare sales prices to normal prices in other stores, and when you see the price like 399.00 think like it's 400.00, that's a very old trick to make us buy more, and still works pretty well.
3. read about products, chemistry and components, you don't have to become an expert but at least know the basic stuff, so you can compare ingredients in shampoos, food, etc. (find a chemist and become his/her friend jajaja you'll learn a lot!!!).
4. If the product is only sold on TV, dont buy it! they don't sell it in a store simply because you'll see it physically and you can spot the poor quality.
5. Buy more in speciallized stores i.e. electronics in best buy or compusa, etc., they have more choices, better prices and the salesman is well trained to show you different choices.
And finally do not watch more than 2 hours of TV per day, is unhealthy, bad for your mind and your wellbeing... buy more books, it's worth the investment.
As in business, love, war, and sex people will do anything to get what they want... so you've got fire back!
There's a new kind of business that was developed some years ago, direct sale, it started in the 50's with the cosmetics industry, companies such AVON where the pioneers...
now we got all kinds of things being sold house by house, by email, mail, etc.
A cousin of mine is selling a product that according to her is the peak of pharmaceutical and boitechnology research...(right jajaja) the company's name is 4life, (i think their website should be 4life.com)
they claim they can boos your inmune system so you'll never get sick again and stuff like that, you join a "club" where you recruit other people creating a network, they will pay you for the people you get to join the network... the trick, you and they need to keep buying theirs producs and they will get you money back "comisions",
I wonder... if those products were really great.. wouldn't they be used by doctors all over???
wouldn't the big pharmaceutical names (bayer, pfizer, etc) be working on such developments and research???
there're lots of things to talk about...
:)
